We are a team of over forty trustworthy, reliable and personable builders who work closely together and take immense pride in our craft.
Dylan’s Dad & older brother Mick are carpenters, and his strong suit at school was maths. Combine that with a love of working outdoors meant that following in his family’s foot steps made perfect sense. Having trained directly under Mick as his apprentice, Dylan now has a wealth of experience of his own. He co-founded Gunn after becoming a Registered Builder with an unlimited residential license. Dylan gets a true sense of pride from building something from the ground up, which flows through to his top notch service and honest approach to client relationships.
Off site, you’ll catch Dylan with his poodles Betty & Huey, kayaking around the front beach of Rye or planning his next snowboarding trip.
Tommy didn’t follow the traditional tradesman route. Instead, he finished Year 12, completed his apprenticeship under Mick Gunn, and then took off travelling for a couple of years. After meeting the CEO of a top tier building company in England, he found himself employed by them a couple of days later. With a wealth of knowledge and experience under his belt, Tommy came home ready to knuckle down. The Gunn brothers approached him, recognising he’d be a valuable asset to the team. He brought a different skillset to the business and filled the gap nicely.
Tommy loves his new rescue dog, a Rottweiler named Mac, as much as does travelling the world. Greece takes the favourite-country-cake with sailing, beaches, incredible food… and the party scene.
Mick co-founded Gunn Building Projects because of a passion for building and sustainability. He brings a plethora of experience, part owning and operating three businesses in the industry. Mick loves the mateship on site, working outdoors and the lifestyle it allows him to enjoy.
Mick has recently become a Dad, with baby Beckham taking up his time outside of work. On the weekend, you’ll ideally catch him with a beer (You know you’re in the right job when you enjoy being on a worksite as much as you enjoy having a beer with your team out of hours) or a snowboard in hand, and making the little man laugh.
