We are currently going through the planning stage of our very own development in Torquay. We are building two side-by-side, two-storey developments with semi-recessed double garages. The engineering and the architecturals have been completed, along with the soil reports. We aim to have the project locked up before the winter rolls in – so keep an on eye on our Facebook and Instagram to see our progress.
Toorak Home Completion
Gunn Building Projects was subcontracted by our close friends at Ironside Constructions to do the build for this project. Gunn's scope was to project manage this from start to finish, running all trades and suppliers. The display suite contained a kitchen, dining, living, two bedrooms, one bathroom, an outdoor paved entertaining area as well as a grand entrance leading up to the front door via timber decking.
The scope for the client was to create a high spec, luxurious dwelling indicative of what they would then be onselling.
Landscaping was completed by Form Landscaping with attention to placement and choice in trees, shrubs and plants for the garden. Large pot plants were used for the paved outdoor entertaining area, with the eventual aim to then shade the area in years to come. A stunning wall garden was constructed beside the entrance as you walk in.
All tapware supplied by E & S trading with polished brass taps chosen for a focal point in the kitchen and to compliment the Italian marble bench tops supplied by GMC stone. Appliances supplied by Miele including rangehood, oven, hotplates and dishwasher. The kitchen was the centrepiece of this build and the large open planned living area. This opened to the outdoor entertaining area facing north to soak up the winter sun for the occasional sunny winter day in one of Melbourne's premium suburbs.
Initially this venue was worked on in conjunction with Just Eco Recycled timber, for the client's daughter's wedding. We clad the barn in stunning recycled Oregon timber and colorbond cladding. The venue was complete in time for a fantastic wedding.
We then renovated the space again, converting it into a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom home with a kitchenette.
4 barn doors were custom made, with spotted gum decking and woodland grey colorbond cladding and roofing.
Working on this renovation was an absolute pleasure, with the lovely clients having purchased our favourite challenge: the worst house on the best street. After taking a year to work out how exactly how the clients wanted to take their rock and polish it into a gem, we then had an onsite meeting to discuss getting the best value for money before applying for plans and permits.
Ultimately, we renovated the kitchen, two bathrooms, laundry, removed all flooring for new American oak floor boards and new carpet in the bedrooms and extended slightly to the rear. An outdoor entertaining area with timber decking, as well as a new deck and entertaining area above the pool to the front was built to make the most of their beautiful Brighton living space. All new landscaping throughout capped it off. We put a new roof on it, as well as new external cladding and all new aluminium windows. One of our favourite projects to date!
